The phrase, musical suicide, evolved through his creative style and expertise in audio engineering, is a certified confirmation from his listeners!

Alexander "Byrd" Green, alias The Jolly Black Giant, is the most revolutionary "New Jack Jock" on the block!

By using subliminal a capellas such as L.L. Cool J, Malcolm X, Elvis Presley and Janet Jackson, he blends an innovative format that has captured the imagination of all audiences.

It all started one night, in the fall of '72, when my high school fraternity, ZOE, gave a dance at the church hall in Jersey City. The DJ kept messing up the groove and the party people started complaining. "We want a new DJ!", they proclaimed. I immediately went to the DJ booth and turned the place out. I then recognized my calling.

In the summer of '73, I wanted to enhance my skills, so I enrolled in the School of Broadcasting and Announcing in New York City. In the fall of '74, I enrolled at Phoenix College in Arizona and I majored in Radio Management. I spent three years perfecting my craft at KMCR-FM, KTAR-FM, KOOL-FM, KXTC-FM and KXIV-AM and acquired various promotional DJ gigs at colleges, hotels and club venues.

In the fall of '77, I transferred to the "Black Mecca" of higher learning, Howard University. Starting out at WHBC-AM and majoring in Radio Broadcast Production, I programmed the J.B.G.'s show. In the fall of '78, I was hired as Assistant Traffic Director for WHUR-FM and was promoted to Producer/Announcer of the "Music Makers" show! In the fall of '79, I was hired as Concert Director of the Student Association at Howard University and worked with the William Morris Agency. My track record includes Angela Bofill, G.Q.& Change and Patti Labelle!

After returning to the "Big Apple", I opened my own Media Consultant/Recording Studio, Mobile DJ business in in the Tri-State area and did a brief stint in '97 on WBAI-FM in New York as an announcer and engineer.

Now, get ready to see and hear the "JBG." around the world.... on the internet - webcasting!!! All happening now....LIVE!!!! on 105.5....WJBG....New York!!!
